About Me

Hi, my name is Anne. I am a fully qualified (since 2018) and experienced person-centred counsellor, integrating different models of counselling to meet each individual needs. I work in private practice supporting children and young people aged 8-24 years.

Hello! I’m Anne

Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy

I’m really passionate about helping children and young people feel supported, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential. Life can be challenging at times, and I’m here to walk alongside them as they work through whatever they’re facing and start to find a sense of balance and wellbeing.

My approach is relaxed, friendly, and completely child-led. Every young person is different, so I tailor each session to suit their individual needs – whether that means having a chat, playing, or using creative tools to help them express what they’re thinking and feeling.

I bring warmth, empathy, and a non-judgemental attitude to every session, creating a safe and comfortable space where children and young people can feel truly heard as they begin to make sense of their world.

I have experience supporting children and young people in primary and secondary school settings, and counselling organisations. Supporting children to help reduce the impact of trauma, bereavement, self esteem, confidence issues, body image, school related issues, identity, children in care system, suicidal ideation, sexual abuse/behaviours and domestic abuse. There is a more exhausted list on the following page (counselling and issues).

I use various interventions to help support clients to comfortably express themselves by encouraging clients to make their own choices and decisions in therapy. Each client works differently and I am guided by them therefore making the work unique. It’s important to build a trusting therapeutic relationship, which in turn can help your child or young person to share their experiences.

I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with their ethical framework. I receive regular clinical supervision for my counselling practice.

I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) which supports GDPR. I will provide you with a GDPR statement if we decide to work together.

I offer a FREE 30 minute initial consultation so that we can find out a little about each other, what has led your child or young person to counselling and decide if we would like to work together.
